PharmD Application Procedure

Application Procedure for the High Point University, Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy (FWSOP) , Doctor of Pharmacy Professional Program:

  1. Complete the pre-professional curriculum
    • If completing your prepharmacy curriculum courses at a college/university other than High Point University you must verify all of your course equivalencies. If you need assistance contact the School of Pharmacy advisor or the Graduate Admissions Advisor.
  2. Review all PharmD Admission Criteria and Technical Standards
  3. Apply during the second year of the pre-professional program. Apply early to guarantee your spot. Note: although applicants can submit their applications in the fall semester before completing their spring semester, ALL prerequisites must be completed by the provided deadline to matriculate into the PharmD program.
  4. If you are completing your prepharmacy courses at another college/university, verify all of your course equivalencies. If you need assistance contact the School of Pharmacy advisor or the Admissions Advisor.
  5. Submit a complete application, including two references, through the PharmCAS. The Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy at High Point University will be accepting applications through June 1, 2026.
    • Recommended references include those from the following list:
      • Pharmacist or other Healthcare Professional
      • Professor (science or math preferred)
      • One from the following group: Employer or Supervisor, Faculty or Pre-Health Advisor
    • Your letters of reference should not be from a family member or personal friend.

  7. It is strongly recommended that you meet with the Pharmacy Advisor to better understand the personal and professional traits and experiences that will be valued in the admission process.

PharmD Interview Day Outline:

The purpose of the interview day is to provide the opportunity for us to get to know you and for you to learn more about the High Point University School of Pharmacy, so you can determine if our program is the best fit for you.

  • Introduction and Group Discussion
  • Two one-on-one interviews with HPU School Pharmacy faculty members
  • Information session about the HPU School of Pharmacy Program.
  • Tour of the School of Pharmacy facilities and of the HPU campus.
  • Meet with the current HPU School of Pharmacy student(s).
  • Wrap-up, next steps and final questions and answers.
