Located in front of Wrenn Hall and seemingly to stand guard over campus, the sculpture depicting Atlas holding the Olympic Globe is a testament to the world view that HPU promotes: development of character, personal responsibility, and a sense of civic duty. Sculpted by Jon Hair,
the nationally known artist who sculpted the original Olympic Globe for the US Olympic Committee, our globe
rises 30' in the air. It weighs 7 tons, is lighted at night and provides a great spot to sit and read or
enjoy our beautiful campus. It's not unusual to see visitors stopping in front of Atlas to have their picture
taken.
