HPU Hosts Greensboro Symphony Orchestra
HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 5, 2009 – High Point University faculty, staff and students and members of the community enjoyed a special performance by the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra on Tuesday, Nov. 3, in the Pauline Theatre of the Hayworth Fine Arts Center.
The Greensboro Symphony provides the residents of Guilford County and surrounding communities with quality musical entertainment and unique educational opportunities, and has done so for the past 50 seasons. The group focuses on promoting and fostering musical culture and education in the community through its Masterworks, POPS, Chamber, Gospel, Holiday and educational outreach concerts – including the concerts given at HPU. Headed up by Maestro Dmitry Sitkovetsky, world-renowned violinist and music director, the concert featured principal guest conductor Fouad Fakhouri.
