HPU Student Government Association Holds Drive To Support United Way Of Greater High Point
HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 4, 2009 – High Point University's Student Government Association is holding a drive from now through Nov. 12 in support of the United Way of Greater High Point.
The fundraising effort will culminate in a special event on Nov. 12, starting at 6 p.m. The student-run event will be an evening of fundraising and awareness for United Way, and will include a silent auction, a special movie at 9 p.m. in the Extraordinaire Cinema, gaming competitions in the arcade area of The Point and United Way awareness tables. The event is not open to the public.
"We are encouraging all students to get involved in our goal of raising $5,000," says Andrew Realon, president of the Student Government Association.
Those who have questions or wish to contribute before Nov. 12 may contact sga@highpoint.edu. At the event, students will be able to make cash donations at the awareness tables. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the United Way.
