Welcome Parents!

Dear High Point University Parents:

We first stepped onto the High Point University campus when our oldest son Ryan attended a lacrosse summer camp following his freshman year in high school.  That day began a long and happy relationship with a university that continues to shape the lives of both our sons.

Ryan is now in his second year of graduate school at HPU after receiving his Bachelor’s degree from the university in 2007.  His younger brother Reid was so sure that High Point University was right for him that he applied for early action admission and is in his sophomore year.

On behalf of the Parents Council, we would like to welcome all new families to the High Point University family.  You are part of a University where extraordinary defines everyone and everything that will touch the lives of you and your student.  In addition to the 10 new building that have opened over the past two years, 2008-2009 will mark the completion of three more new buildings.

The Parents Council at HPU offers parents and staff a vehicle for exploring ideas, raising concerns, and communicating the changes and enhancements to campus life.  You should feel free to contact us or any member of the Parents Council.  One of the most enjoyable roles for Council members is hosting ‘welcome parties’ in the late summer for high school Seniors making their way to High Point University.  Knowing a few familiar faces before leaving home and arriving on campus is a great way to ease the transition.  And the parties are an opportunity for parents to get to know one another as well.

We also hope you will consider supporting the Parents Fund.  Gifts to the annual Parents Fund help retain outstanding faculty and support critical student services at High Point University. A gift in any amount is appreciated.

Our best wishes for an extraordinary year at HPU!

Sincerely,

Bill and Edie McCrea
