Requirements for Summer 2010 Financial Assistance

APPLICATION DEADLINE:   5 PM, MONDAY, MAY 3, 2010

The Summer 2010 Financial Assistance application forms will be available February 1, 2010, and due in the Student Financial Planning Office NO LATER THAN THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON MONDAY, MAY 3, 2010.  Application forms received in the Student Financial Planning Office after this date will be considered late and will not be processed.

Students wishing to apply for Summer 2010 assistance must have a 2009-10 FAFSA on file with the US Department of Education and have HPU's Title IV School Code (002933) listed on the form.  Summer assistance is limited to the student's remaining eligibility for Federal loans OR grants and is not guaranteed.  If a student has used all of his or her eligibility for the academic year, there will be no aid available for summer. Students interested in summer aid MUST submit the HPU summer financial aid application, available in early February and due NO LATER THAN MAY 3. Students who miss the summer deadline will NOT be considered for summer assistance.

Undergraduate students must take a minimum of six (6) credit hours during the summer in order to qualify for any remaining aid eligibility.  Graduate students must take a minimum of three (3) credit hours during the summer in order to qualify for any remaining aid eligibility.  Aid will not be disbursed until after the last drop/add period ends for summer.  Refunds (if any) will not be available until after that time.  If a student drops ANY credit hours during the summer for any reason, the student's aid is subject to reduction or cancellation WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.  If a student is considering dropping classes or reducing hours, he or she MUST contact the appropriate Student Financial Planning Counselor prior to reducing hours to discuss the consequences.
