Media at High Point University exists primarily to support the curricular programs. The University offers several student organizations which focus on communications.

Apogee (literary magazine)
The Apogee, the University literary magazine, ordinarily is published in the spring semester. Members of the High Point family, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni, may submit writings to the student editorial board which selects material for publication, subject to the publications guidelines of the University and the approval of the advisor. Participants may receive credit for English 264, the literary magazine practicum (prerequisite: sophomore standing and permission of instructor). Campus Chronicle (newspaper)
Since 1995, the High Point University Campus Chronicle has been selected annually as one of the Top 20 campus newspapers in the nation by the American Scholastic Press Association (ASPA) which gave the newspaper a first place award each year. Among institutions enrolling more than 2500 students, fewer than 20 first place awards were announced annually. The front page of the November 30, 1995 edition was selected as one of the five best "front pages" in the nation for the 1995-96 academic year. Participants may receive academic credit for English 263.

The newspaper's purpose is to keep students apprised of events on and around campus that may be of interest to them. Also, we strive to provide informative, entertaining articles and a forum for students to voice their views and opinions. Prior experience is not required.

Writers' Club
The Writers' Club exists to encourage creative writing among members of the High Point University community. If you are interested in writing for campus literacy publications, contact Dr. Leah Schweitzer (841-9106) in 206 Norcross Hall.

WWIH Radio (90.3 FM)
WWIH, the campus radio station, is currently being revamped for the digital age. For further information, contact Dr. Judy Isaksen (888-6308) in 213 Norcross Hall.

Zenith (yearbook)
The staff of the Zenith develops, produces, and distributes a chronicle of each academic year which includes pictures of individuals and organizations, as well as pictures descriptive of campus life. The yearbook is not complete without your picture, so please have your picture taken at the designated time. Because it is counter-productive to publish yearbooks without pictures of the majority of students, ordinarily the most recent picture available will be published if you do not sit for a new photograph. Students who pay an activity fee will receive the Zenith without additional charge. If you would like to work on the Zenith staff, contact the staff advisor, Hillary Kokajko (841-9118) in Slane Center.
