HPU Professor Contributes Chapter To Book On Military Leaders

Dr. Frederick Schneid, professor of history at HPU, recently contributed the chapter on Napoleon in the book "Great Military Leaders." The book, now available, was published by Thames and Hudson. "The book is global in scope and examines the exploits of military commanders from China, India, Africa, Europe and America over the course of 2,500 years," Schneid explains.

HPU School Of Education Hosts Open House

The School of Education at High Point University will host an open house on Oct. 16 for students who are interested in pursuing master's degrees in Elementary Education or Educational Leadership. The open house, to be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Room 101 in Norton Hall, will include formal presentations detailing entrance requirements, courses of study and perks of the program at 4:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.

HPU Hosts More Than 3,000 Guests At Alumni And Family Weekend

More than 3,000 High Point University alumni, family and friends had perfect weather this weekend to catch up on all of the excitement on the HPU campus with fellowship, entertainment and more during the annual fall Alumni and Family Weekend, which was held Oct. 3-5. "The combination of activities with the beautiful fall weather made for a memorable three days of food, fellowship and fun."

HPU Professor Publishes Book, Holds Book Signing

Dr. Matthew Schneider, professor and chair of the English Department at HPU, held a book signing and reading for his recently published book, "The Long and Winding Road from Blake to the Beatles." The book, released in June 2008, traces the literary, cultural and musical links that tie the Beatles to their poetic precursors - especially William Blake, William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Robert Burns and Lord Byron.
