Learning Excellence was created to ensure that all students have the necessary support system to achieve extraordinary academic success at High Point University.  The program is open to all HPU students and offers extensive support to all students with learning differences, as well as those who want to strengthen their academic abilities.

Through a diverse, fee-based system of comprehensive, individualized support, Learning Excellence develops a learning program specific to each student, so that each student gets the personalized attention and encouragement needed.  Learning Excellence will be there every step of the way to help each student learn and succeed academically.

• Individualized learning assessment
• Outlined plan for graduation
• Weekly support meetings
• 8-10 hours per week supervised study hall
• Weekly tutoring
• Time management, test taking, study skills, learning styles and self-advocacy training
• Parental involvement

The success of students participating in Learning Excellence is dependent upon their personal involvement, cooperation and dedication to academic progress and success, as well as the support of their parents.  Students sign an agreement indicating their commitment to the program.

Requirements

• Learning Excellence is inclusive and open to all HPU students that desire to cultivate their academic abilities.

• The cost to be enrolled in Learning Excellence is $2500 per semester.

• First year students enrolling in Learning Excellence are strongly recommended to attend Summer Experience.  Students that are unable to attend Summer Experience will be required to take ADV 101 in the fall.
