I am pleased to announce the addition of Janelle Cary to the ASC staff as a Disability Specialist.  We are thrilled to have Janelle  on our team! 


Tutor Training in the Park

The eighth annual Tutor Training in the Park will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008, from 3:00-6:00 p.m..  Training will take place at City Lake Park in Jamestown.  All ASC tutors and staff are required to attend. 



Disability Services:
Daily construction on campus may cause some unscheduled access problems. Construction teams have been encouraged to leave walkways and ramps clear of debris; however, sometimes obstacles cannot be avoided. If you experience difficulty accessing a building, contact Campus Safety at (336) 841-9112 for immediate assistance and then notify the ASC at (336) 841-9037.

To receive your accommodation memos, bring your current course schedule to the Academic Services Center. Deliver the memos to your professors as soon as possible and discuss any scheduling issues. Remember: Accommodations are not retroactive.

Students who need textbooks converted to audio should deliver their books to the ASC no later than the dates listed below. The conversion of books delivered after the recommended dates may be delayed:
    

Tutoring:
Tutoring hours for Fall Semester 2008 will be on an individual and walk-in basis. Contact Craig Curty in the Academic Services Center for information about individual tutors.  Check the ASC website for the link to the walk-in tutor schedule.  Walk-in hours start on Sunday, August 31.

Education students:
PRAXIS-I preparation software is available in the ASC. Students should contact the ASC at least 24 hours in advance to make an appointment: (336)841-9037 or email. Plan to spend 1-2 hours during each session.
