Grievance Procedures

During the term, a student may: feel his/her accommodations are not being properly executed; be refused an approved accommodation by an instructor; be denied access to campus facilities or services; feel confidentiality has been breached; or experience discrimination due to the disability.

In such situations, the grievance procedures to be followed by the student is:

  1. Discuss the situation with the professional involved (instructor, Student Life staff, program director, etc.).
  2. If the situation is not resolved, the student must report the incident or condition in writing to the ASC Director immediately. The situation will be reviewed, and the appropriate action taken.
  3. If the student is not satisfied by the action taken by the ASC Assistant Director, appeals must be made in writing to the Associate Dean for Academic Development.
