Academic Services Center

The Academic Services Center (ASC) holds international certification as a "level-three certified academic assistance center" by the College Reading and Learning Association. The Center is located in Smith Library and provides several forms of assistance to students. Mr. Craig Curty, Director, and Mrs. Irene Ingersoll, Assistant Director, coordinate tutorial services as well as supplemental instruction, student seminars, writing skills development, computer word processing skills, plus counseling students in other academic skills and needs.

Tutorial services are provided at no additional charge in accounting, biology, computers, English, math, foreign languages, plus other subjects upon request. Seminars are offered in word processing, time management, testing strategies, and additional topics. Special support for student-athletes, reading comprehension, teacher education Praxis exam, and the Freshman Success Program are also provided. 

The ASC also reviews and coordinates services for students with learning, physical, and psychological disabilities.
